Home Update and Remodel in Hinsdale, Illinois

Planning Home Update Project

Our clients just purchased this 5,600 sq. ft. home in Hinsdale and although the home had solid bones, they were looking to make updates and tweaks to make this house their forever home. We ventured on this journey to make their vision a reality.

Interior Remodel

Just about every room in the house was touched to some degree, including new doors throughout. We also:

re-tiled the hall and en suite bathroom

remodeled the master bedroom and living room fireplaces

replaced French doors in dining room

created a scullery in the kitchen, new backsplash and banquette

updated the laundry room, including Dutch door

modified wet bar and family room cabinetry

tweaked custom trim package throughout based on remodel throughout home

Exterior Remodel

The exterior remodel is the most transformed. We changed out the arched dormers for a more modern square dormer. A new roof was necessary for the design and most importantly, needed to be replaced with architectural grade shingles. From our discussions we knew the front door needed to be more pronounced, which meant creating a larger opening that included side lights and transom, and a custom door with a high gloss finish in Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black. New gutters, downspouts, and a paint job on the brick and window trim completed this exterior remodel.

Basement Reinvented

The basement was one of the areas that was most transformed. We created a bar area complete with ship lap wrapped cabinetry, quartz countertops, black sink, mirror tile backsplash, accent gold open shelves and a kegerator to top it off! We also created a wine room adjacent to this space, complete with climate controlled wine storage with glass surround and a seating area with a glass surround and black metal accents. Perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with friends.
