Contemporary Great Room Remodel

We worked with our clients and Wheatland Custom Cabinetry & Woodwork to update this outdated kitchen in Clarendon Hills. While keeping with the existing cabinetry, we modified what was necessary to move the refrigerator over to the desk wall, and built new cabinetry to go above the refrigerator with glass doors. We also replaced the existing range hood with a stainless steel chimney hood and brought the glass subway tiles all the way up to the ceiling. We also modified the kitchen island so that our clients could get seating and installed all new countertops. To top it off, the cabinetry was refinished and a custom banquette was built and installed by Wheatland Custom Cabinetry & Woodwork on the opposite side of the kitchen sink.

To make this space a ‘great room’ we removed a wall separating the kitchen from the family room and patched/repaired the flooring. We tied in updating the family room with a new fireplace surround in limestone.
